FoWG at Burley Summer Festival
A Day of Sunshine, Smiles & Shared Vision
What do you get when you mix glorious sunshine, classic cars, live music, and a community buzzing with energy? The Burley Summer Festival, of course—and this year, the Wharfedale Greenway were back again!
Our stand was a hive of activity from start to finish. We had the pleasure of chatting with dozens of visitors, answering questions about the Greenway’s progress, and hearing brilliant ideas from locals passionate about making our communities more connected, accessible, and green. Whether folks were curious about the proposed route, excited about heritage preservation, or just drawn in by our colourful posters, the conversations were inspiring.
One of the highlights? Welcoming new volunteers who offered their time, skills, and enthusiasm to help move the project forward. It was heartening to see so many people eager to roll up their sleeves and get involved.
We were genuinely overwhelmed by the warmth and support from the local community. It’s clear that the vision for the Wharfedale Greenway resonates deeply—and we’re always ready to listen. Whether you have questions, concerns, or ideas to share, we’re here for it. Your voices shape this project, and we’re grateful for every conversation.
The festival itself was a treat—stalls galore, delicious food, and the ever-popular classic cars event that had everyone reminiscing and snapping photos. The soundtrack of the day came courtesy of fantastic bands and singers who kept spirits high and toes tapping.
A huge shoutout to our amazing volunteers who manned the stand all day with warmth, knowledge, and tireless energy.
As we continue building momentum for the Wharfedale Greenway, events like these remind us why we do it: to connect people, celebrate heritage, and create spaces that future generations will cherish.
